Lone Star TechCON 2027

Code of Conduct.

Lone Star TechCON is dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices. We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. This applies to everyone at the event — attendees, speakers, sponsors, volunteers, and organizers alike.

Expected Behavior

• Be professional, be direct, be kind. Honest technical debate is welcome; personal attacks are not.
• Respect the boundaries other people set — in conversation, in the Career Room, and in the hallway track.
• If someone asks you to stop, stop.
• Look out for each other. If you see something, tell an organizer.

Unacceptable Behavior

Harassment includes, but is not limited to:

• Offensive comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, or religion.
• Sexual images or language in public spaces, including in talks and slides.
• Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following.
• Harassing photography or recording.
• Sustained disruption of talks or other events.
• Inappropriate physical contact or unwelcome sexual attention.
• Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above.

Sponsors and exhibitors are also subject to this policy — sponsor staff must not use sexualized images, activities, or other material, and recruiting conversations (including in the Career Room) must stay professional.

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to all conference venues and conference-related social events, and to official conference communication channels online — before, during, and after the event.

Reporting a Problem

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, contact the organizers at hello@lonestartechcon.com or find any organizer or volunteer on site — they'll be identifiable by their badges. Reports are handled confidentially. We would rather hear about it than have you leave with a bad experience.

Enforcement

Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. Organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, from a warning to expulsion from the conference with no refund. Conference staff will be happy to help participants contact venue security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the conference.
